About the 1901 Prince of Wales Crown

Created for King George V, then Prince of Wales, to wear at his father's coronation in 1901, this crown later graced the coronation of his own son, Edward, Prince of Wales, who would eventually become King Edward VIII. Following his abdication in 1936, King Edward VIII took this crown into exile and it was only returned upon his passing in 1972.
