These violet flower earrings are an eye-catching and colourful statement piece of jewellery. The gold plating complements the rich yellow and purple colours that have been intricately hand-enamelled on the violet flowers. The purple half of the flowers are encrusted with two tones of purple bohemian crystals to add a beautiful sparkle.

Our Inspiration
Violets, one of the birth flowers for February, are named after their blue-purple colour but can also be found in yellow, blue and cream colours. They are symbolic of virtue, modesty and humility.
Our violet flower jewellery is based on the Viola tricolour- Commonly known as heartsease, this charming wildflower was the forerunner of the garden pansy. It exhibits delightful variations in petal colouring and patterning in the many flowers carried throughout the summer.
Our inspiration came from the artwork of Caroline Maria Applebee (c.1799-1854). Unfortunately very little is known about Miss Applebee, like so many female artists of the time. She was an extremely talented amateur artist whose works went unpublished. Her paintings feature a large range of plants, including many more rare and exotic varieties of the day that would only survive under glass.
